Best mates and fellow-apprentices Gary McDonald and Rob Cahill started Alfa Panelbeaters in 1974.
Just over a year later they moved to a site at 19 Sabulite Road, Kelston, before moving to their present location at the corner of Sabulite Road and Great North Road.
The new premises were officially opened in the mid 1980's by Mayor Tim Shadbolt.
